I enjoyed watching the cultural games, competitions and the colorful attire. It would be interesting knowing the particular meaning behind the various accouterments and colors that make up their costumes.
I focused my photography on the color, iconic elements and the personalities of the crowd in hopes I could capture the essence of the Pow Wow with minimal intrusion.
After a demonstration of the jumble of hoops that the dancer manipulated quite nimbly, the structure of the dance showed masterful skill. I thought the public participation of the community kids with the 'Hoop Dance' was well done.
There was a compliment of personal and public events for the individual clans in attendance. They honored their elder members and those who have served in the US armed forces and those who where held in memory.
